Salisbury Road Race – Gap, PA

Jenn and Kim Post RaceRace Type: Road Race
Conditions: Sunny and 35 degrees
Riders Representing: Kimberly Zubris, Jennifer Rhodes

On Saturday, March 30th, Peanut Butter & Co Human Zoom were representing at the Salisbury Road Race. The course rolled through a 6.3-mile circuit in beautiful Lancaster County, PA. The finishing section boasted a long straightaway that led into a wall of a climb, followed immediately by the finish line. Given the strength of the field, teammates Kim Z. and Jen R. thought it likely that either the race would be decided on the wall during the final sprint or a small group would break away. With this in mind, Kim and Jen were vigilant to maintain good positions throughout the race and not expend too much energy, even while setting the pace. Going into the finishing section the group was intact, but became obstructed by a gigantic tractor chugging along towards the wall as well as an oncoming car. Kim and Jen managed to safely maneuver through the traffic, and Kim rocketed up the climb to finish 3rd and Jen placed 14th on the day.
